			<title>Beverly Hamm</title>

Harris Hamm, 87, of White St., Waterville, NY, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Harding Nursing Home in Waterville.
She was born November 23, 1925 in Utica, a daughter of Charles and Minnie Jones Pryor and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. On November 25, 1945, Beverly married Charles T. Harris in Utica. He predeceased her on August 4, 1994. She married Alfred E. Hamm, Sr. in Waterville on June 11, 1999. He died on January 25, 2002. Beverly had worked at the Waterville Knitting Mill until her retirement. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was devoted to her family and treasured the times spent with them.
Beverly was a member of the Waterville Baptist Church where she was the organist for over 50 years. When Beverly came to Waterville, the church had been closed for several years, and she was instrumental in restarting the parish. She was also a former member of the O.E.S. in Waterville.
Surviving are her children, Charles, Jr. and Mary Harris of Waterville; Dale and Carolyn Harris of Rosedale, MD; Deborah and Robert Kutzuba of Freedom, NY; Scott Harris of Conover, NC; Suzanne and Kevin Smeader of Cheektowaga; and daughter-in-law, Sue Harris of Waterville; step-daughter and her husband, Linda and Dennis Plano of Victor, NY; and step-daughter-in-law, Karren Hamm of Carlisle, PA; fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Kim Harris, a brother, Wordie Pryor, and a step-son, Alfred E. Hamm, Jr. 
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Monday, May 20, 2013 from the Waterville Baptist Church, East Main St., Waterville, followed by interment in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Clinton.
Friends are invited to call at the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville on Sunday from 2-4pm; and on Monday from Noon to 2pm at the church prior to the service.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Waterville Baptist Church, or to the Waterville Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Frink Carney, 77, formerly of Sherburne, NY passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
She was born January 2, 1936 in Norwich and received her education in local schools. On May 9, 1959, Shirley married William R. “Bill” Carney in Sherburne. He predeceased her on June 20, 2007. A Sherburne resident most of her life, Shirley had worked at Chesebrough Ponds for over 20 years until her retirement. She enjoyed crafting and loved going to Bingo.
Surviving are her children, William Carney, Jr. of Smithville Flats; Michael and Cindy Carney of Oxford; Anthony and Veronica Carney of TX; brother, Larry Frink of FL; four grandchildren, Jessica, Daniel, Amber and Berenica; and a great-granddaughter, Riley. She was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey A. Carney on April 20, 1999.
In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, services and interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Norwich are private.

Alexander, 88, of State Route 12, Waterville, NY,  passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Harding Nursing Home in Waterville.
Emily was born on May 29, 1924 in White Plains, NY, a daughter of Louis William and Elvie Russell Potter and was a graduate of White Plains High School. On October 9, 1942, Emily married Edward F. Alexander in White Plains. He predeceased her on February 19, 1995. Moving to Waterville in 1961, Emily worked for Waterville Central School as a bus driver and cafeteria staff, until her retirement. She was an enthusiastic gardener and an avid quilter. She was a member of the Americana Village Quilters Guild, and had been a member of the former First Presbyterian Church in Waterville.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Ted Pfohl of Hubbardsville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Edward, Jr. and Naomi Alexander of Port Charlotte, FL; and Wayne Alexander of Waterville; six grandchildren, James (Kristin) Alexander, Sandra Alexander (Seth Kibel), Sarah Pfohl, Christina Alexander, Caitlin Pfohl and Russell Pfohl; three great-grandchildren, William and Josephine Kibel, and Vivian Alexander.
Funeral services will be held at 10am Monday, May 20, 2013 from the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville, followed by interment in the Waterville Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday from 7-9pm.

McEligot, 88, of Abbott Ave., Earlville, NY, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown.
Born January 27, 1925 in Sherburne, he was a son of Patrick J. and Ida Foote McEligot and was a graduate of Sherburne High School. On March 17, 1950, he married Helen L. Baker in Earlville. She predeceased him on December 30, 2003. Bill had worked at Colgate University in Hamilton for 30 years. He had also worked at Vernon Downs for 30 years and following his retirement was the caretaker for the Pratt Newton Home in Sherburne. Bill had a great sense of humor and a sharp wit. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed sports, especially golfing. He also loved his German Shepherds.
Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church in Earlville. 
Surviving are his children, Michael and Mariann McEligot of West Haven, CT; Matthew and Mary Lynn McEligot of Earlville; a sister, Anne Reese of St Louis; eight grandchildren, Christopher Smith of Clark Mills, Kimberly Brown of Earlville Charlotte Brown of Sherburne, Tiffany Webb of Sarasota, FL, Heather Jo McEligot of St. Petersburg, FL, Tracy Fowler of Port Allegheny, PA; Aaron McEligot and Alicia McEligot, both of Norwich; a great-granddaughter, Isabella; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Timothy in 2005; a brother, John in 2012, and a sister, Mary (Miller) Foster.
Memorial services will be held at 2pm Saturday, May 11, 2013 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville with interment in the Graham Cemetery, Hubbardsville.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from Noon until 2pm prior to the service.

Stowell, 71, of Norwich, NY,  formerly of Sherburne, returned to his mother on Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
He was born March 8, 1942 in the Town of Vernon, a son of Lawrence and Mary Chase Stowell and was raised in Madison where he received his education. A Sherburne resident most of his adult life, Melvin had a variety of occupations. He had been a pinsetter at the Sherburne Bowling Alley; a clerk/baker at Doyle’s Bakery; and caretaker of West Hill Cemetery. He also worked at I.L. Richer, and his favorite job was at the Larry Taylor Farm. Later, he worked at Standard Brands and then Kenyon Press until his retirement. 
Melvin had attended the United Church of Christ in Sherburne, and was active with the Sherburne Historical Society. He was a huge fan of Mickey Mouse.
Surviving are his sisters, Ethel Forward of Bainbridge and Faye Smith of Guyton, GA; step-sister, Kay Williams of Madison and Janet Stefura of Endicott; step-brothers, Glenn Forward and Fay Forward, both of Bouckville; and Dan Forward of Madison; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his aunt, Marcella Crumb and uncle, Freeman Chase.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne, followed by interment in the West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from11am to 1pm prior to the service.

Stachnick, 95, of Scotia, formerly of Rome, passed away peacefully May 2, 2013 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. 
Joe was born in Rome on February 12, 1918, the son of Agatha and John Stachnick and he attended Rome schools. He was married to his loving wife, Matilda Pisiak for 52 years until she predeceased him on August 15, 1994.  Joe's faith and the Catholic Church were very important to him.
Joe was very proud to serve with the U.S. Army in the European theater in WWII. After the war he worked for Revere Copper Products Inc. and retired from the company. He also ran his own business-Joe's Garage, repairing vehicles for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Rome Polish Home and a member of the American Legion. He devoted his time from 1994 - 2002 assisting in grounds and maintenance for the St. Joseph Cemetery in Hamilton. 
He is survived by his brother Andy, his two daughters JoAnn and Molly Ann, two grandchildren William and Johanna, 2 great-grandchildren Stefani and Rhiannon, and his great-great grandson Landon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Friday May 10, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Wylie St., Hamilton, NY, followed by internment at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Hitchcock, 84, of Hamilton, NY, passed away Wednesday May 1, 2013 at the Harding Nursing Home in Waterville where she had been a resident since 2006.
Wilma was born May 19, 1928 in DePeyster, NY, a daughter of Hubert and Laura Schofell St. John. She was raised in DeKalb Junction/Hermon area and was a graduate of Hermon Central School in 1945. From 1946 to 1948, she had worked at the Rome State School. On June 12, 1948, Wilma married Willard Hitchcock. He predeceased her on September 15 1990. A Hamilton resident since her marriage, Wilma was a homemaker whose life revolved around her family. 
She was a member of the Park United Methodist Church in Hamilton where she taught Sunday school. She was a member of the Hamilton Grange, and later, the Peterboro Grange; the Home Bureau in Hamilton, and was a 4-H leader. 
Surviving are her children, Larry and Nellie Hitchcock, and Jean Lehman, all of Hamilton; James and Debra Hitchcock of Fruitland Park, FL; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lloyd St. John of Salamanca; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Geneva Schmidtka of Clifton Springs; Eva Cobb of Massena; Janice and Ralph Little of Watertown; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial service will be held at 3pm Saturday, May 4, 2013 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton.
Interment in the Woodlawn Cemetery will be private at the convenience of her family.

Truax, 67, of County Rt. 24, Sherburne,  NY, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at her home.
She was born January 11, 1946 in South Amboy, NJ, a daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Herbert Hayes, Sr., and Martin Barnhart. Her family moved to New York where she received her education in Moravia schools. On July 25, 1992, Rita married Frederick F. Truax in Sherburne. She was a homemaker, and a loving wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to caring for her family. Her favorite hours were those spent doting on her three great-grandchildren.
Rita was a member of the American Legion Post #876 Auxiliary of Sherburne. She enjoyed many hobbies, especially tending her flowers gardens, playing shuffleboard, cooking, baking, crafting and crocheting. She also loved going to garage sales and the activities at the Moose Club in Norwich.
Surviving are her husband, Fred; her children, Edward J. and Mary Batsford of McDonough; Robert D. and Michele Carhart of Sherburne; son-in-law, Craig A. Magacs of Greene; grandchildren, Ashley and Myranda Batsford and Jordan Carhart and Dalton Peek; sisters and brother-in-law, Regina Foster, Betty and Wilfred Quail, Elsie Todd, and Pearl McKane; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Kathie Barnhart, George and Donna Hayes, William and Vicky Hayes, and Kenneth Hayes; sister-in-law, Connie Hayes; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a daughter, Marie A. Magacs, a grandchild, Tyler Magacs, a sister, Beverly Smith, and three brothers, Randall Barnhart, John and Chester Hayes.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Sunday, May 5, 2013 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne, followed by interment in the Sherburne Quarter Cemetery.

Frink, 81 of Craine Lake Road in Hamilton passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013.  
He was born January 5, 1932 in Norwich, NY.   A graduate of Norwich High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force.  Cliff married Joyce Margaret Izard of Earlville on July 21, 1956.  They were together for 56 years until his passing. 
Over his many years Cliff worked for Wilson Meat Packing in Utica, Oriskany Central School, and for many years he ran his own barbershop, “The Country Barber,” out of his home in Whitesboro. He enjoyed woodworking and birdwatching. 
Cliff was a member of United Church of Christ in Sherburne, NY.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce; his children Phillip (Karyn) of Cumberland, RI, John (Lori) of Topanga, CA, Mary (Robert) of Richmond, VA, Robert (Jackie) of Pascoag, RI, Clifford of Phoenix, NY and nine grandchildren.  He had a brother, Harold (deceased) and leaves behind two sisters, Ruth and Beverly as well as many extended family and friends.
Calling hours will be held, Monday May 6, 2013 at the United Church of Christ in Sherburne from 11 AM to 1 PM with funeral services to follow directly after.
He will be interred at West Hill Cemetery in Sherburne, NY

Campbell, 63, of Howard Hill Rd., Smyrna, NY,  passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at his home.
Steve was born March 25, 1950 in New Berlin, a son of the late Kenneth W. and Fredora Myers Campbell. He was a graduate of Sherburne High School and attended SUNY Morrisville. On June 5, 1970, Stephen married Daralynn S. Krohn in Smyrna. A lifelong Smyrna resident, Steve was a dairy farmer and had also worked at Sherburne-Earlville Central School as a bus driver, and later as a custodian for over 26 years, until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid fan of the NY Yankees, Giants and Syracuse University teams. He was active with and very supportive of the wrestling program at Sherburne-Earlville, as well as all the other Sherburne- Earlville Sports programs.
Steve was a dedicated member of his community where he served on the Town Council, and was a member of the Smyrna Fire Department for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Daralynn; father-in-law, Stanley Krohn of Smyrna; his sons, Robert, Dana Campbell, all of Smyrna; two daughters and a son-in-law, Devon Campbell, Katie and Craig Harvey, all of Smyrna; grandchildren, Tyler, Tanner, Tegan and Alexander Campbell, and Mykayla Harvey; sisters, Sally Merrill of Sherburne; Kristene Campbell and David Crugnale of Norwich; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Barbara Campbell of Smyrna; step-brothers and step-sisters, Harlie and Martha Stowell, Peggy and Gerald Fleming, and Sally Stackhouse, all of Smyrna; Shirley and Paul Atwell of New Berlin; step-brother-in-law, Ronald Harvey of Smyrna; and an “adopted” brother, Ken Hynes of Matawan, NJ; three aunts and an uncle, Dorothy and Gerald Green of Unadilla; and Bonnie Frink of North Norwich; and Eva Campbell of Lebanon. Also surviving many nieces, nephews and cousins and a dear friend Janet Middleton, as well as his extended family, Richard Bacon, John Doe, Paul Mirra, Leon Horton and George Germano. Steve was predeceased by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Lee Campbell, William and Marla Campbell; brother-in-law, Richard Merrill; and two nephews Rick Merrill and Darren Masker; mother-in-law, Betty Krohn; his step-mother, Zella Campbell; a step-sister, Betty Harvey; step-brother-in-law, Raymond Stackhouse; “adopted” brother, Edward Hynes; and a dear friend, Marvin Chesebro.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, May 4, 2013 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne, followed by interment in the Willcox Cemetery, Smyrna.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from Noon until 2pm prior to the service.
