Barbara J. Perri, 68, of Utica, NY passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at home, with her family by her side.
She was born September 5, 1941 in Cortlandville, NY, a daughter of Paul L. and Lillian May Potter Franklin. She was raised in the Beaver Meadow area, received her early education in South Otselic Schools and was a graduate of Cortland High School. On May 3, 1960, Barbara married Vincent F. “Jimmy” Perri in Utica. He predeceased her on May 5, 1997. Barbara had been a nurse’s aide at Cortland Hospital, worked at Cortland Crescent and Smith Corona in Cortland at one time. While living in Utica, she was employed at General Electric and Con Med. Her favorite occupation was working in the roofing and siding industry. Barbara had lived in Georgia for several years where she worked at Buice Center in Sugar Hill. She was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are her children and their spouses: Vincent F. Perry, Jr. and Colleen Szablewski of Lancaster, NY; Christine “Chris” and Anthony “Tony” Lupino of Whitesboro; Lilly and David Tedesco of Clinton; Regina “Gia” Perry and Joe Zarrelli of Sherburne; Congetta and Dan Woods, Robert Perry, Angela Perry and Callie Perry, all of Utica; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Shirley and Richard DuBois of Oxford and Priscilla “Tootsie” Collins of Cortland; her grandchildren, Erin, David and Xander Perry, Vincent Siebel, Giavanna Faccioli, Christine Palmieri, Callie Palmieri, Lillian Woods, Austin and Jerald Caro, Christie, David II and Nicholas Tedesco; a great-grandchild, Landon DiPerri; and many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Barbara’s wishes, services will be private. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Calvary Cemetery, Utica.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Stevens-Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio St., Utica, NY 13501.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, NY.
