Betty M. Brown, 84, of County Rd. 20, Smyrna, NY, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at her home.
She was born June 27, 1928 in Somers, NY, a daughter of Clark and Gertrude Niles Miller and was a graduate of Norwich High School. On June 20, 1948, Betty married Leon Brown in Smyrna. She had worked at Proctor & Gamble in Norwich for 10 years, retiring in 1990. Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose first priority was her family. She enjoyed knitting and was a member of the Smyrna Knitting Club. She also enjoyed baking and always made pies for the Smyrna Fire Department fund raisers.
Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Smyrna.
Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Leon; her children, Linda and David Campbell, Bolivar, OH; Arlene and James Nichols, Chenango Forks; Dolores and Brad Kruchten, Rochester; Laura and Timothy Foley, Marion; John and Wendy Brown, Sherburne; Dennis Brown, Sherburne; Kevin and Peggy Brown, Churchville; 24 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Winkler, and two brothers, Robert and Harry Miller.
Memorial services will be held at 4pm Friday, February 15, 2013 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Interment in the Willcox Cemetery, Smyrna will be made in the spring.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4pm prior to the service.
