Beverley Ball Joyce Brockley Arthur 86, of Paris Hill Road, Sauquoit, NY, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica.
She was born January 19, 1930, in Utica, a daughter of William P. and Verna W. Brown Ball. Beverley graduated from Sauquoit Valley High School and Plattsburg State College. On August 26, 1950, she married Norman F. Joyce. She later married John P. Brockley III who predeceased her on April 5, 1998. On August 25, 2001, Beverley married William E. Arthur who died on September 21, 2016.
Beverley had been a teacher in the Liverpool and Syracuse schools. She had also owned and operated an interior decorating shop in Dryden, and then was the office manager and sales agent for Yaman Real Estate in Dryden. She retired from the sales and service department of John Brockley, Inc., a Ski-Doo dealer in Paris Hill.
Beverley was an avid quilter and gardener, a long-time member and former president of the Sauquoit Valley Garden Club, and a member of the Paris Hill Volunteer Fire Department. She loved to travel, especially taking cruises with William several times a year.
Surviving are her children, Eric L. and Deborah T. Joyce of West Winfield; Karl G. and Stephanie Joyce of Newark, NY; Candace M. Joyce Jones of Phoenix, AZ; a step-son, William E. Arthur III of Methuen, MA; grandchildren Mariah Joyce, Shane Joyce, Christopher Joyce, Chauncey Joyce, Michelle DeBernardis and Lynn Cieri; 7 great-grandchildren and several cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters, Marilyn Joan Ball and Phyllis Marie Ball Whitesell; a granddaughter, M. Joyce; and a son-in-law, William Jones.
Beverley’s family would also like to express special thanks to the staff of the ICU at St. Elizabeth’s for their compassion and care during a difficult time.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 21, 2017, from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home (Kloster & Northrop Memorial Chapel), 210 E. Main St., Waterville, NY 13480.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to a favorite charity.
