Bruce Cowen

Bruce D. Cowen, 59, of Clinton, NY, passed away Monday, January 20, 2014 at the Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY.
He was born May 4, 1954 in Utica, a son of Clement H. and Patricia A. Bartlett Cowen. He grew up in Waterville where he graduated from Waterville High School and later from SUNY, Delhi. On July 16, 1982, Bruce married Mary Beth Manion at St. Bernard’s Church in Waterville. He worked at Bartell Machinery Systems in Rome for the past 7 years, and also had own company, Cowen Construction at one time. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking, hiking, and biking. Bruce was a director at the Clinton Fish and Game Club and an active member of the Vernon National Shooting Preserve. Above all, he was a loving and devoted husband and father.
He leaves his wife Mary Beth Manion Cowen; two daughters, Lauren Elizabeth Cowen and Andrea Lyn Cowen both of Albany; his mother, Patricia A. Cowen, of Newark, DE; brother Bradley (Sarah) Cowen of Wilmington, DE; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved companion, Kacey. He was predeceased by his father, Clement H. Cowen and a brother Brian D. Cowen.
Memorial services will be held at 11am Saturday, January 25, 2014 from the Kloster & Northrop Chapel at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville, NY.
Interment is private at the convenience of his family.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8pm.
