Chester D. Reeves, 82, of Swamp Rd., Morrisville, NY, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 at his home.
He was born July 22, 1934 in Syracuse, a son of Chester B. and Mildred Case Reeves. Chester proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1957. On February 19, 1961, he married Shirley Jones in Pompey Center, NY. Chet had worked for Culligan’s, Accurate Precision Die Casting in Fayetteville, and then as a custodian at Cazenovia Central School until retiring in 2000. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf. He was happiest when spending his time playing with his children and grandchildren.
Chester was a member of the Smithfield Fire Department and the American Legion Post in Manlius.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Shirley; his children, Donna and Lance Suttles of Clarksville, TN; Charlene Reeves of Canastota; Lisa and John Marris of Erieville; Wendy Reeves and Lance Leonard of Ravena, NY; Richard Perry, Chester D., II and Penny Reeves, all of Peterboro; a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Jane Reeves of Leesburg, FL; thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Alene Baranski, Joan and Vern Rowley; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Nola Reeves.
Memorial services will be held at 1pm Friday, February 10, 2017 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 11am to 1pm Friday prior to the service.
Interment is private at the convenience of his family.
