Mr. Clarence E. Holbert, 91, of Kissimmee, FL and Morrisville, NY, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Osceola Regional Medical Center in Kissimmee, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on March 12, 1922 in Starlight, PA, a son of the late John and Mina Kingsbury Holbert. He married Catherine E. Henderson on March 31, 1946 in Hancock NY. He was the owner of Morrisville Motors for 52 years where he received numerous Chrysler Dealer Awards and also served on the Chrysler Advertising Board.
Clarence was a member and elder of the Morrisville Community Church. He was a member of the Morrisville Rotary and a Paul Harris Fellow. As part of his service to the Rotary and its community programs, Clarence always made sure that Santa had reliable transportation for his trips around the village each year. He was a member of the AAA Board; a long time member of the Boy Scout Council Advisory Board; and a member of the Board of Canastota Savings and Loan. He was a lifetime member of the Village of Morrisville Fire Department.
Surviving are his wife, Catherine; two daughters and a son-in-law, Constance H. and Mark Shepard and Margaret H. Brody, all of Morrisville; four sons and two daughters-in-law, David C. and JoAnn Holbert of Morrisville; Robert A. and Paulette Holbert of The Villages, FL; Dean L. Holbert of Morrisville; and Malcolm S. Holbert of St. Cloud, FL; a sister and brother-in-law, Olive and Larry Faigle of Hancock; brother and sister-in-law, William and Beverly Holbert of Auburn; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Tammy Jo Shepard.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm Sunday, December 15, 2013 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville.
Interment will be in the Morrisville Cemetery in the spring.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
