Dorothy E. Angelo, 94, of East Hill Rd., Georgetown, former Georgetown Town Clerk, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2009 at the Crouse Community Center, Morrisville.
She was born January 6, 1915 in Williamson, NY, a daughter of Oscar and Hattie Montondo Clogg and received her education in Williamson schools. Dorothy married Edgar M. Angelo and they moved to Georgetown in 1954. Edgar predeceased her on October 10, 1966. Mrs. Angelo was the Georgetown Town Clerk until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of the Georgetown Baptist Church where she had served as treasurer and taught Sunday school. Gardening and reading were her favorite past times.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, David and Madeline Angelo of Marietta, NY; a daughter, Priscilla J. Angelo Johnston of Auburn, NY; her grandchildren, Christine and Christopher Caudwell of London; Corey and Maria Angelo of Las Vegas; Sherri and Edward Guzyalk of Auburn; a great-granddaughter Sophia Caudwell and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A brother, Gerald Clogg predeceased her.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, May 21, 2009 from the First Baptist Church, Route 26, Georgetown, followed by interment in Hillside Cemetery, Georgetown.
Friends are invited to call at the church on Thursday from Noon until 2 PM prior to the service.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the First Baptist Church, Georgetown; or to the Georgetown Fire Department.
