Dorothy S. Campbell, 86, formerly of Earlville and Morrisville, NY, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Crouse Community Center in Morrisville, surrounded by family.
She was born May 8, 1929 in Hamilton, NY, a daughter of Joseph and Ethel (Thornton) Russett and received her education in local schools. On August 12, 1982, Dorothy married Douglas F. Campbell. He predeceased her on April 9, 2006. She had been a cook and waitress at Sautter’s Diner in Morrisville until retiring. Dorothy was devoted to her family, always putting their needs before her own. She was happiest when spending time with her beloved grandchildren and tending her beautiful flower gardens.
She was a member of the Morrisville Community Church and the Widows Group in Morrisville. She was also a volunteer at the Presbyterian Women’s Clothes Basket and the Gift Shop at the Crouse Community Center.
Surviving are her children, Tony Sikes of Marietta; JoAnn Oakley of NC; Andrew Sikes of Cazenovia; Lavia and Roger Wedge of Verona; Calla and Nathan Miller of Morrisville; a sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Woodson McAllister of Chittenango; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Linden McAllister, and two brothers, James and George Russett.
Memorial Services will be held at 3pm Thursday, December 3, 2015 from the Morrisville Community Church, 3824 Swamp Rd., Morrisville.
Interment will be private at the convenience of her family.
There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Morrisville Community Church, PO Box 178, Morrisville, NY 13408.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, Morrisville.
