Edward B. Malhenzie, 92, of Route 80, Sherburne, NY, passed away Monday, May 2, 2011 at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich.
He was born January 27, 1919 in Throop, PA, a son of Ernest and Mary Maholski Malhenzie and received his education in local schools. On December 22, 1947, Edward married Frances E. Bagnall in New Berlin. Ed was a self-employed dairy and chicken farmer in Columbus for several years. He later worked for the Russell Webb Farm for 35 years until his retirement.
Surviving are his wife, Frances; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Daniel E. Malhenzie of Mt. Vision; Dale B. and Betty Malhenzie of Delmar, NY; Louis J. Malhenzie of Staunton, VA; daughter, Valerie M. Draghi of Hornell; sisters, Eleanor Bull of AZ; Josephine Hunt of Campbell, NY; Betty Burleigh of FL and Grace Stolarcyk of New Hartford; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bernard and Toni Malhenzie of Oriskany Falls; and Herbert Malhenzie of Madison; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Charles Malhenzie and Ernest Kowthko.
Memorial services will be held at 1pm Wednesday, May 4, 2011 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne with interment in the Church of the Epiphany Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from Noon until 1pm prior to the service.
