Ella Mae Barriger

MORRISVILLE: Ella Mae Barriger, 93, of Morrisville, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the Crouse Community Center in Morrisville.
She was born April 4, 1920 in Madison, a daughter of Ernest and Ethel Phillips Rice and attended school in Randallsville. Ella married Clarence Chase who predeceased her. She had worked at Oneida Ltd. In Sherrill for eight years, and then for Thermold in Manlius for ten years until retiring in 1985. She had lived in Cazenovia and Oneida before moving to Morrisville.
Ella was a former member of the Willow Glen Rebekah Lodge #158 in Eaton; a volunteer for R.S.V.P. of Cazenovia and the Senior Companion Program and also Crouse Community Center in Morrisville.
Surviving are her daughter, Shirley (Bernie) Waite of Syracuse; and son Keith (Margaret) Chase of Georgetown; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, and 2 great-great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three daughters Beverly Schleah, Wanda Merchant and Glenda Chase. Also a son Clayton Chase, two sisters Viola Wilcox and Bernice Koeing and a brother Willian Rice.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday December 23, 2013 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville. There are no calling hours.
Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Hamilton in the spring.
