Frances S. Joerger, of Bonney Hill Rd., Hamilton, NY, passed away Friday June 24, 2011 at her home, surrounded by her loving family and friend Fran.
She was born in Brooklyn on January 18, 1926 a daughter of Charles and Frances Witt Schaefer and graduated from Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Queens. On February 15, 1947 in Richmond Hill, Long Island she was united in marriage to Austin G. Jeorger. The couple moved to Hamilton in 1965. Mr. Joerger predeceased her on March 24, 2011. Before moving to Hamilton, Mrs. Joerger was employed as a Legal Secretary in New York City. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Hamilton; the Altar Rosary Society and the Legion of Mary, visiting the sick at home and at Community Memorial Hospital, ECF. She also enjoyed the Chenango Water Exercise Group at Colgate University.
A loving and devoted wife; mother; grandmother; great grandmother; friend, she was loved by everyone and leaves her children, Christopher and Elizabeth Joerger of Hamilton; Victoria and Gregory Hess of Eaton; Peter Joerger of Logan, UT; Paul and Lynda Joerger of Flagstaff, AZ; Marianne and Michael Dunham of West Chester, OH; daughter-in-law Terry Joerger of Hamilton; fourteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Austin C. Joerger in 2006; a sister Evelyn Stemmer and a brother Charles Schaefer.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on July 6, 2011 at St. Mary’s Church, 16 Wylie St., Hamilton, NY. Interment will be held in Colgate Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home 25 Broad St. Hamiton, NY on Tuesday July 5, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM the rosary will be recited at 1:45 PM.
