George Brackett

George D. Brackett III, 61, of Old Orchard Beach, ME, formerly of Waterville, NY, passed away March 8, 2011 at the Maine Medical Center, Portland, ME.
He was born on April 20, 1949 in Lawrence, MA, a son of George D., Jr. and Marjorie Milliken Brackett. George was a graduate of Waterville High School and SUNY, Morrisville, and continued his education at Utica College of Syracuse University. He was a chemical engineer and metallurgist who worked at Oneida Ltd. in Sherrill, NY for 25 years and then Utica Metals in Utica, NY before moving to Maine. He worked at General Dynamics in Saco, ME until his retirement. George loved playing his guitar and singing. He also enjoyed hunting and photography, and worked extensively with computers.
Surviving are his mother, Marjorie Brackett of Waterville; his children, Suzanne Brackett and her fiancé J.R. Hubbard of Waterville, NY; Kyle and Krista Brackett of Lancaster, NY; Kevin Brackett of Syracuse, NY; Kristen and Orlando Apodaca of San Diego, CA; his sisters and brothers, Patricia A. and Robert Saddlemire of Waterville, NY; John L. Brackett and his fiancée Maureen Aceto of Orlando, FL; James A. Brackett and his fiancée Connie Coleman of Waterville, NY; Donna M. and Philip Snow of Waterville, NY; Steven R. Brackett of Irvine, CA; Christopher R. Brackett and his fiancée, Lili Lawson of Liverpool, NY; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father in 2009.
Services will be held at the convenience of his family at the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, Waterville, NY.
There will be no calling hours.
