Gertrude “Trudy” Bach, of Madison Lane, Hamilton, NY, moved on from our earthly world to meet her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, December 5, 2010, just six days prior to her 95th birthday. Trudy was the beloved wife for 67 years of Ernest J. Bach, who preceded his “dear love” in 2003.
Trudy was born December 11, 1915 in Pforzheim, Germany, and emigrated to New York City with her family during the mid 1920’s, later residing in Uniondale, NY and Port Richey, FL, before moving to Hamilton in 2004. Trudy loved her bingo at Madison Lane and the Turning Stone Casino, as well as her many travels and trips with neighbors and friends at Madison Lane. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother whose infectious smile would light up her face and spread joy to everyone around her. She will be dearly missed.
Trudy considered her many years of service with the Eastern Star, Oriental Shrine of N.A., Supreme Council Order of the Amaranth and White Shrine, as a highlight of her life. She was also very proud of her husband’s leadership and activities in Masonic and Shriner functions in which she also participated.
Trudy is survived by her son, Ernest Wm. Bach of Largo, FL; her daughter and husband, Carole and Den Kelly of Hamilton, NY; sister, Clara Postel of Loveland, CO; sister-in-law, Claire Chavez of Germanton, NC; five grandchildren, Karen LaBrague and husband Roland, and Shawn Kelly, all of Hamilton, NY; Ernest W. Bach, Jr. of Iowa; Lynda Bach of New York; Brenda Bach and Gina Kilby, both of New Hampshire ; thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her devoted feline companion Sultan. Her brother, Willie Walter and her sister, Elsie Edel predeceased her.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, with a memorial recognition offered by the Order of the Eastern Star.
