Goldie A. Manion, 80, of Waterville, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Presbyterian Home for CNY.
She was born December 1, 1933 in Star Lake, NY, a daughter of Stanley and Vina Walker Allen and was a graduate of Star Lake schools. Goldie married Royce S. “Rod” Manion in Brookfield in 1957. He predeceased her in May 1978. Goldie worked at the Harding Nursing Home for 10 years, and then the Waterville Knitting Mill until her retirement. She was of the Catholic faith. Her favorite past times were camping, fishing and playing bingo. She had a very competitive spirit and enjoyed playing games at the nursing home. She was a former member of the Waterville Firemen’s Auxiliary.
Surviving are her children, Lynda and James Gwilt of Edmeston; Robert Manion of Oriskany Falls; Rodney and Catherine Manion of Waterville; Roger and Nonie Manion of Ballston Lake; son-in-law, Michael Michaud of Madison; a sister, Doris Allen of Basher Falls; grandchildren, Christopher and Cat Manion of Utica; Stephanie and Greg Neff of Oneida; Sarah and Clayton Brown of Oriskany Falls; Heather Manion of Rochester; Felicia Tice of Herkimer; Olivia Shauger of Deansboro; and Christina Manion of Ballston Lake; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Kathryn Michaud.
In keeping with her wishes, there are no services or calling hours.
Interment is private at the convenience of her family.
