Harold C. Rhoades, 57, of Peck Rd., Bouckville, NY, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, NY.
He was born July 26, 1954 in Ellenville, NY a son of the late Harold C., Sr. and Sadie McCullen Rhoades, and received his education in local schools. On August 3, 1970, Harold married Joyce M. Burger in Woodbourne, NY. Along with his father, Harold operated “Windy Hill Farms” in Smyrna. He loved horses and enjoyed raising miniature horses. Harold was an easy-going and fun-loving man who had a great sense of humor. He created a special affectionate nickname for each of his family members and most of his good friends.
Surviving is his beloved wife, Joyce; his children, Harold, III and Heather Rhoades of Georgetown; Minnie and Jeremy Hook of Lebanon; Joseph Burger of Bouckville; Sadie and Walter Orson of Front Royal, VA; Henry Rhoades and Elain Rhoades both of Utica; Pam Schraider of Monticello; many grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy Davis of Toms Brook, VA; Margerita and Donald Baldman of Inwood, WV; Johanna and Jerry Prince of DeRuyter; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He is also survived by many, many good friends, including Paul and Nadine Orth of Eaton
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Monday, January 30, 2012 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, NY.
Interment in Hillside Cemetery, Georgetown will be in the spring.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday from 6-9pm.

Harold’s family wishes to thank all the doctors, especially Dr. Peachy, and the nurses who took such wonderful care of him during his illness.
