Helen Baker

Helen Zalewski Baker, 94, of Noyes Manor, Sherrill, NY, formerly of Earlville, NY, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at The Grand at Rome Nursing Center in Rome.
She was born November 6, 1920 in Utica, a daughter of Stanley and Victoria Klosowski Zalewski and received her education in Utica schools. On June 24 1939, Helen was united in marriage to Dolph L. Baker in Utica. He predeceased her on August 10, 2004. Mrs. Baker was a homemaker, and a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a former member of the Deerfield Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Elaine Baker of Sylvan Beach; and Dolph Baker, Jr. of Colorado; sisters, Mary Klein, Stella Pawlings and Phyllis Vashio, all of Utica; two brothers, Chester Zalewski of Marcy and Joseph Zalewski of Utica; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Kilbourn on September 1, 2003, and s sister, Mary Klein.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of her family from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville with interment in the Earlville Cemetery.
