Helen C. Nestor, 98 years, of Madison Lane, Hamilton, NY, formerly of Schenectady, NY, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Oneida Healthcare ECF.
She was born December 10, 1916 in Schenectady, a daughter of Benjamin and Sophie Kosinski and was educated in local schools. Helen married Ervin Nestor who predeceased her. A Schenectady resident most of her life, Helen had worked for General Electric for over 20 years, and later worked in the cafeteria at Schenectady High School. Following her retirement, she moved to Hamilton to be near her son and his family.
Helen was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Hamilton and an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She had previously been a communicant of St. John’s Church in Schenectady.
Helen is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Dorothy Ivinski of Hamilton; grandchildren, Pamela Ivinski of Croton-on-Hudson; Patricia Ivinski of Baltimore, MD; Jeffrey and Laura Ivinski of Randolph, NJ; and two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Paige.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at St. Mary’s Church, 16 Wylie St., Hamilton, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will also be celebrated at 11am Thursday, January 15, 2015 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Schenectady, followed by burial in St. Adalbert’s Cemetery, Schenectady.
There will be no calling hours.
