ILDA E. LADD
DERUYTER: Mrs. Ilda E. Ladd, 81, of Utica St., passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, NY, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 5, 1927 in Merrillsville, NY a daughter of Lynn and Minerva Dunham Mark and was a graduate of Georgetown High School in 1944. On November 17, 1945, Ilda was married to Carley E. Ladd in Truxton, NY. He predeceased her on June 18, 1996. A DeRuyter resident most of her life, Mrs. Ladd was a cook and restaurateur in New Woodstock, Truxton and DeRuyter until her retirement. She was a member of the United Church of DeRuyter. Throughout it all, she maintained her courage and wit.
Surviving are four sons and two daughters-in-law, Charles E. of DeRuyter; Thomas R. and Janet of Knoxville, TN; Jonathan of Rochester; Timothy and Tracy of Sheds; three daughters, Carla Ladd of Cortland; LouAnne Ladd and Lori Ladd, both of DeRuyter; a brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Eleanor Mark of West Eaton; two sisters, Linda Fickling of Kissimmee, FL and Laura Morrell of DeRuyter; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Diana in 1950, and a son, Jeffrey in 1979.
Memorial services will be held at the United Church of DeRuyter at 1PM on Monday, February 23, 2009.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the Hillcrest Cemetery, DeRuyter.
