Inez Marilyn (Cramer) Jillson, 88, formerly of Earlville,NY passed away at her home in Mechanicsville, VA on Thursday, May 20, 2010.
She was born August 16, 1921 in the Town of Eaton, a daughter of Morris E. and Ella Bergstrom Cramer and was a graduate of Morrisville Central School. On September 19, 1940, Inez married Donald E. Jillson in Cazenovia. Donald predeceased her on April 18, 1976. Inez lived in the Earlville area most of her life where she had worked for the Alice Blue Gown Shop, and then for NBT Bank as a teller until her retirement. Inez was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. She spent many hours making crafts and donating them to local bazaars and charity organizations. She was involved in the Girl Scout organization from the time she was 10 years old until she left the Earlville area. After moving to Mechanicsville, she devoted many hours to delivering Meals on Wheels, right up until a few months prior to her death.
Inez was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Earlville since 1959, where she was a member and former secretary of the United Methodist Women. Most recently, she attended the Shady Grove Methodist Church in Mechanicsville. She had also been on the board of the Earlville Cemetery Association at one time.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Edward S. and Denise Jillson of Ashland, VA; David H. and Pat Jillson of Kill Devil Hills, NC; a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Mary Lou Cramer of Red Oak, TX; her grandchildren, Jay, Mark and Sarah Jillson, Lisa Marks, Ron and Geri Caruth and Eric Caruth; a great-grandchild, Gerald Caruth; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two daughters, Sharry and Susan Jillson; two brothers, Eugene and Eustace Cramer; and a sister, Inoe Jantzen.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, May 26, 2010 from the First United Methodist Church, Earlville, followed by interment in the Earlville Cemetery.
Friends are invited and may call Wednesday morning prior to the service at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville, NY from 9:00 to 10:30 AM
