James Dwyer

James E. “Jed” Dwyer, Jr., 66, of Deansboro, NY, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare, New Hartford, NY.
He was born October 25, 1944 in Utica, a son of James E. and Eleanor Pratt Dwyer and was a graduate of Sauquoit High School. Jed was a free spirit who excelled as a talented artist and craftsman. He enjoyed many hobbies, including skiing, chess, camping, sailing and landscaping. He was also an avid reader and loved gardening and animals.
Jed attended the Vernon Center United Methodist Church. He was a Cub Scout leader and a NYS Emergency Medical Technician.
Surviving are his brothers and sisters-in-law, Jay and Karen Dwyer of White Lake, FL; Jack and Mary Dwyer of Sauquoit; Jeff and Marci Dwyer of West Chester, PA; and Donna Dwyer of North Utica. Also surviving are a niece, Shari Phillips of Syracuse; two nephews, John and Sean Dwyer, both of New Hartford; his loving friends, Jess and Karen Fehr of Deansboro; his extended family Daniel Casey of Brandon, FL and Jacki Warcup of Oriskany Falls; the love of his life and his great joy, his Godson, Christopher Fehr and his fiancée, Kim Welch of Deansboro; and his loyal canine companion, Pooh Bear. Jed was predeceased by a brother, Jerry Dwyer.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 East Main St., Waterville, followed by interment in the Deansboro Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10am until the time of the service.
