James W. Lowry, 67, of Bonney Rd., Eaton, NY, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Kingston Hospital, Kingston, NY.
He was born July 24, 1944 in Airat, NC, a son of John W. and Margaret L. Coone Lowry. On December 28, 1965, James was married to Theresa J. Banks in New York City. Living in College Point, NY, he worked for the NYC Transit Authority for several years. After moving to Eaton, he worked at Cazenovia Central School and also owned and operated Raindrop Farm for 17 years. Jim was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He was of the Catholic faith. Jim was a loving and devoted man whose greatest joy was his family. He enjoyed taking them on family trips.
Surviving are his wife, Theresa; his children, James R. and Patricia Lowry of Eaton; Thomas Lowry of Coward, SC; Lee Lowry and her husband, Michael Wohlfahrt of Hyde Park, grandchildren, Grace Ann, Emma Katherine, Kaitlyn Marie and Jessica Leigh Lowry, Nicholas Alexander and Andrew James Wallen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Susan Lowry of Eaton; Greg and Tracy Lowry of Springfield Center, NY; sister and brother-in-law, Lissette and Raymond Torsell of Rangely, CO; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Gray Lowry; sisters, Judy Stacey and Joyce Lee Lowry; and a grandson, Alexander Bryant Wallen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from St. Mary’s Church, 16 Wylie St., Hamilton, NY.
Burial will be private at the convenience of his family.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, NY on Monday from 4-8pm.
In lieu of flowers, his family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the March of Dimes, 1275 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains, NY 10605.
