McKnight, Jane Hollowell (Sowden) born May 5, 1930, lived 85 years. Beloved wife of Stewart (deceased) she is survived by her sister, Alyce, and three children James, Curt (Madeleine), and Margaret (Christopher). Devoted grandmother of six: Bryan, Isabella, Hannah, William, Benjamin, and Maya. She was elegant, poised, with an ever-present smile that lit up every room she entered. An accomplished gardener, skier, tennis player, and cyclist, she loved the outdoors and inspired her family to do the same. She pursued her interest in culture and history by traveling the world and volunteering as a docent at Lakewood and Western Reserve Historical Societies. Janie was an avid seamstress, first-class entertainer, competitive scrabble player, and dabbler in watercolor. An avid reader, she was the secretary of Hamilton Fortnightly Club and a member of the Hamilton Book Club. She was an active member of her local church, Lakewood Presbyterian for over 50 years and St. Thomas Episcopal in Hamilton, NY for the past 10 years, most recently serving on the flower guild. Memorial service on Saturday, May 9 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Hamilton, NY. A service will be held in Cleveland, Ohio at a time to be determined.
