John Wheaton, 85, of Hubbardsville, formerly of Randallsville, NY passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the Hamilton Manor Adult Home where he had been a resident since 2007.
He was born August 4, 1925 in Earlville and received his education in local schools. John was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, having served in the Philippine Islands. He had been the Highway Superintendant in the Town of Lebanon, and later worked in construction for John Hall of Waterville until his retirement. In 1982, John moved to Paisley, FL, moving back to the central NY area in 1993. He had been a member of the American Legion Post #876 of Sherburne.
Graveside services with military honors will be held in the spring in Smith’s Valley Cemetery, Randallsville.
