John Witty, 81, of Matthew Dr., Clinton, NY, passed away Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Katherine Luther RHCF in Clinton.
He was born December 27, 1929 in Pompton Lakes, NJ, a son of Joseph and Edith Cahill Witty. Raised in Butler, NJ, he was a graduate of Butler High School. On July 31, 1947, John married Marion L. Burzinski at St. Anthony’s Church in Butler, NJ. John was a heavy equipment operator for Robert Hearle & Son in Pequannock, NJ until his retirement. Following that, he and Marion moved to Clinton.
John was a member of St. Anthony’s Church in Butler, NJ and the Vernon (NJ) Rod & Gun Club. His favorite hobbies included fishing and gardening.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Marion; his children, Sharon and Clifford Bauman of Statesboro, GA; Debra and Kenneth Paulson of Hubbardsville, NY and Gail Witty of Andover, NJ; his beloved grandchildren, Robyn and Ricky Bruce, Renee and James Faddis, Clifford, Jr. and Belinda Bauman, all of Statesboro, GA, and Adam Paulson of Marina del Ray, CA; a sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Roy Yarger of Brunswick, GA; sister-in-law, Sharon Witty of FL; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph, Jr. and Gerald Witty.
Memorial Services will be held at 7pm Monday, March 21, 2011 from the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 East Main St., Waterville.
Interment will be private at the convenience of his family.
