KATHERINE M. RODDA
MORRISVILE: Katherine M. Rodda, 92, of Swamp Rd., passed away Friday, October 11, 2013 at the Crouse Community Center in Morrisville.
She was born June 6, 1921 in the Town of Ohio, a daughter of Earl and Myrtle Stephens Brondstatter. She was a graduate of Poland High School and the Morrisville Agricultural and Technical College. On August 9, 1943, Katherine married William H. Rodda in the Town of Ohio and they made their home at their farm on Davis Corners Rd. in Morrisville. William predeceased her on September 1, 2012, following 69 years of marriage. Katherine had been a baker for several area restaurants and colleges, as well as a homemaker who devoted her life to caring for her family.
She was a member of the Peterboro United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Peterboro Grange. Katherine’s first love was her family and then quilting.
Surviving are her children, Thomas and Chris Rodda of Oneida; Naomi and Milton Denison of Peterboro; Joan and James Curtis of Cazenovia; Mary Ellen and George Fish of Menasha, WI; William and Yanxia Rodda of Albuquerque, NM; Philip and Marianne Rodda of Hanahan, SC; a sister, Mary Barnard of Stittville; grandchildren, Tamara, Kevin, Thomas, Kara, Mary Rose, Matthew, Diana, Teri, Eric, Daniel, Curt, Ben, Boyang, Sam and Benny; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday October 17, 2013 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisvill, followed by interment in the Peterboro Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday October 16, 2013 from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
