Kathleen N. Murphy, 85, lifelong resident of Hubbardsville, died Monday, July 13, 2015 at Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton.
She was born on December 2, 1929, in the Town of Taylor, NY, a daughter of Patrick T. and Marlea Sergent Murphy. She was a graduate of Hamilton Central School, Class of 1947, and the Central City Business Institute in Syracuse. She was employed as a secretary by LeRoy Hodge, Esq. in Hamilton, and for many years with the Farm Credit Bureau in several offices until retiring in 1989. Kathleen was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Hamilton.
She is survived by a niece, Cindy (Stanley) Johnson; nephews, Terry (Karen) Murphy, Dennis (Karen) Murphy; several grandnieces and nephews, all of California; and several cousins from the East Coast. She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Marguerite M. “Pete” Murphy in 2010, and a brother, James Murphy in 2004.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Thursday, July 16, 2015 from St. Mary’s Church, 16 Wylie St., Hamilton, followed by interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hamilton.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
