Keith W. Symonds, 78, of Bastian Rd., Town of Lebanon, NY passed away Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton.
He was born May 8, 1931 in Hornell, NY a son of Waldo O. and Margery Husted Symonds. He was a graduate of Woodhull High School and had attended Morrisville Agricultural and Technical College. On September 13, 1952, Keith married Ada Crandall in the West Smyrna Baptist Church. Keith was a self-employed dairy farmer. He was one of the founding members of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hamilton where he served as a deacon. He was a former member of the West Smyrna Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Ada; his children, Daniel Symonds of Reading, PA; Stanley Symonds of Lebanon; Paul Symonds of Naples, FL; Carol and Lou Alcorn of Raleigh, NC; Kathleen and Wayne Miller of Cortland; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Erma Symonds of Syracuse; Lois and Robert Angle of South Otselic; Kay Hoag of Tioga, PA; Sharon and Jack Conklin of South Otselic; a brother and sister-in-law, Maurice and Shirley Symonds of Woodhull, NY; nine grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday from the Cornerstone Baptist Church, Madison St., Hamilton, followed by burial in Willcox Cemetery, Town of Smyrna.
Friends are invited to call at the church on Wednesday from 11AM until 1 PM prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, his family has requested contributions in his memory be made to Camp BAYOUCA, Dining Hall Fund, PO Box 204, Marathon, NY 13804-0204.
