Lewis M. Buell, 53, of State Highway 12, Sherburne, NY, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013 at his home.
He was born June 29, 1959 in Hamilton, a son of Emerson H. and Barbara Bice Buell and received his education in Hamilton schools. On December 24, 1983, Lewis married Michelle L. Morgan in Hamilton. Lew was an energetic and motivated guy who had owned and operated Lew’s Auto Repair and Tow Service. He was a mechanic at Den Kelly’s auto dealership in Hamilton, and worked at Colgate University at one time. Most recently, he also operated L & A Scrap Metals in Sherburne and worked in the Buildings & Grounds Department at Sherburne-Earlville Central School. Lew enjoyed hunting and going to auctions. His favorite times were those spent with his family.
Lewis was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Norwich.
Surviving are the love of his life, Michelle; son, Anthony Buell and Daphne Dodge; daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Cory Moon; father and step-mother, Emerson and Bonnie Buell; mother, Barbara Hill; brothers and sisters-in-law, Emerson and Deanne Buell; Edward and Eileen Buell; John and Kim Buell; Luke and Robin Buell; Terry and Tanya Buell; Rick Stevens; Randy and Cherie Stevens; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucinda and David Arroway; Mody and Doug Westcott; Lisa and Mike Hendricks and Tonya Buell; grandchildren, Blake Moon, Brent and Courtney Dodge; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Brenda and Ralph Griffiths; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and –nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne on Wednesday January 23, 2013 from 5-8pm.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be held in the spring in the Sherburne Quarter Cemetery.
