Lola A. Salsbury Leete, 88, of Earlville, passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 at the Crouse Community Center in Morrisville.
She was born May 31, 1926 in Volney, NY, a daughter of John W. and Francis L. Getman Salsbury and was a graduate of Sherburne High School. On January 28, 1945, Lola married Charles M. Leete in Sherburne and they made their home on the family farm in Earlville. Charles predeceased her on November 10, 1994. Along with assisting her husband in the operation of their farm, Lola had also worked for Bigelow’s Drug Store in Sherburne at one time, and was the owner/manager of the Sears store in Hamilton for several years. She also worked with Charles when he started Countryside Realty in Earlville in 1969, which later affiliated with Century 21.
She was a member of the Earlville Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel Leete and Linda McLyman of Syracuse; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and David Sensinger of Liverpool; a sister, Norene Bigelow of State College, PA; three grandchildren, Matthew Leete, Jonathon and Daniel Sensinger; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday, September 5, 2014 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville, followed by interment in the Earlville Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 11am to 1pm prior to the service.
