Margaret M. Foster

GEORGETOWN, NY: Margaret M. Foster, 100, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Hospice and Palliative Care Siegenthaler Center in New Hartford.
She was born on June 28, 1920 to Agnes and George Sepello in Manhattan, NYC, the oldest of three other siblings, John, Rose and Richard, who all predeceased her. The family moved to Pleasant Valley Rd in Sherburne, NY to live on a country farm and raise their children. Margaret attended Sherburne Schools, starting in a one-room school and then on to the high school for 9th grade. After graduation in 1938, she worked various jobs in Sherburne and Norwich. Margaret met Rexford H. Foster while square dancing. They married on May 8, 1942, raising their children in Georgetown on the Glen Brook Stock Farm. Rex passed away in November 1978.
Margaret grew up with 4-H projects, loved nature, flowers, sewing and handicrafts, quilting with friends, her dog Lady, cooking and baking. She enjoyed taking bus tours with her daughter, Katherine, or a friend. She traveled to Maine and Nova Scotia, Boston and Nantucket, Baltimore and Myrtle Beach, Florida and Key West, New Orleans and Texas to mention her favorites over the years. Attending church and Friday luncheon programs with friends were some of her best times.
She is survived by her children, Katherine, Louise and David; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Margaret will be laid to rest in the Hillside Cemetery in Georgetown.
