Marion C. Peach, Maj. USAF, Ret., 89, of Lebanon St., Hamilton, NY, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at the Community Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility.
He was born March 9, 1921 in Walnut, IL, a son of George W. and Jettie Saathof Peach. He was a graduate of Walnut High School and received his BA and MA degrees at Southeastern University in Washington, DC. On May 4, 1943, Marion was united in marriage to Mary A. Cullen in Ashville, NC. She predeceased him on May 3, 2005. Maj. Peach served in the U.S. Air Force on active and reserve duty from 1944 until his retirement in 1981. He worked at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, retiring in August 1974.
Marion was a former member of the American Legion Post #1556 of Madison.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Michael Miscio of Bethlehem, NH; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Judith Peach of Hamilton; sister, Lorene VanDevelde of Walnut, IL; brother and sister-in-law, Virden and Marge Peach of Walnut, IL; seven grandchildren, Michael and Rocio Miscio of Petaluma, CA; Meredith and William Pearse of Canton, CT; Christopher Miscio of LasVegas, NV; Thomas and Sherri Miscio of Lebanon, ME; Paul and Rhienna Miscio of Bethlehem, NH; Jeffrey and Xinnia Brustad of Yonkers, NY; Julie and Karl Hatch of Oneida, NY; eleven great-grandchildren, Brooke, Tad, Trey, William, Haley, Violet, Michael, Cameron, Nicholas, Gabrielle and Mattingly; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Brown, and four brothers, Harold, Raymond, Marvin and Lowell Peach.
Funeral services were held at 1 pm Friday, November 26, 2010 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton.
Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hamilton with military honors.
