Marjorie D. Mudge, 86, of Deansboro, NY passed away Friday, December 14, 2012 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Utica.
She was born May 23, 1926 in Clinton, a daughter of Howard Larue and Ruth Henriette Steinmann Dixon. She was a graduate of Afton Central Schools and attended Syracuse University. On August 10, 1945, Marjorie married George M. Mudge in Afton. He predeceased her on August 16, 1999. Mrs. Mudge was very civic minded and devoted to her community and her church. She had served as the Mayor of Afton and was an active member of the Deansboro Congregational United Church of Christ. She enjoyed golfing, skiing and bridge.
Surviving are her children, Lee Anne Quinn of Chicopee, MA; Ellen and Rodney Johnson of Bethesda, MD; brother and sister-in-law, Howard D. and Joan Dixon of Poland, NY; a granddaughter, Annaliese Johnson of Bethesda, MD; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Thomas Mudge, and a son-in-law, Donald Quinn.
Memorial services will be held at 2pm Wednesday, December 19, 2012 from the Deansboro Congregational United Church of Christ.
Interment in the Glenwood Cemetery, Afton will be private at the convenience of her family.
Friends are invited to call at the church on Wednesday from Noon until 2pm prior to the service.
