Mary L. Keys, 70, of Randallsville Rd., Hamilton, NY, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010 at University Hospital, Syracuse, NY.
She was born July 18, 1939 in Hamilton, a daughter of Henry and Lillian Knutsen Brustad. She was a graduate of Hamilton High School and Central City Business Institute. On November 22, 1986, Mary married Richard A. Keys in Randallsville. Mary was an Administrative Assistant in the Academics Department at Colgate University until her retirement. She also collected and sold antiques for over 20 years. Mary loved music and enjoyed singing in the choir and at many services over the years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She was a member of the Randallsville New Life Church.
Surviving are her devoted and caring husband, Richard; her children, Dale and Sallye Smith of Madison; Douglas and Amy Smith of Knoxboro; Darren and Robin Lovelace-Smith of Anchorage, AK; a brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Sue Brustad of Cape Canaveral, FL; 13 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Sonja and a brother, George Brusted.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, April 1, 2010 from the Randallsville New Life Church, followed by interment in Smith’s Valley Cemetery, Randallsville.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
