Mary Korzeniewski

Mary Jacqueline Rakowski Korzeniewski, 91, of Morrisville, NY, beloved wife of the late Leon Korzeniewski, died Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Crouse Community Center, Morrisville.
She was born October 8, 1918 in Utica, a middle child of Rosalia and Victor Rakowski. Mary attended Holy Trinity High School in Utica, and was a life long learner, ever curious, who pursued her interests in literature, gardening and homemaking. In September 1939, Mary married Leon who predeceased her on May 17, 2008. After their marriage, they resided in Morrisville where Mary loved the country life while raising her five children. She and Leon jointly finished the weekly crossword puzzle, and she continued to be an avid reader until her illness overtook her in the last three years. Mary loved to travel with her family and friends, and participated in several civic groups in her younger days. Surviving are her five children, L. Peter (Loretta) Korzeniewski of Seneca Falls; Rosalie Davis of Morrisville; Gary Korzeniewski of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Susan Korzeniewski of Syracuse and Charles (Betsy) Korzeniewski of Palmer, AK; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Henrietta and Irene Jones, both of Utica; Leona Lynch of Morrisville; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by eight sisters and brothers.
In keeping with her wishes, services will be private at the convenience of her family.
There will be no calling hours.
