Olga North

Olga M. North, 97, of Hamilton, NY, the lovely little lady often seen walking around the Village for the past 15 years, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Community Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility, Hamilton.
She was born January 19, 1913 in Toole, Utah, a daughter of Louis and Mary Parteko and was a graduate of Earlville High School. In July 1932, Olga married Howard “Red” North in Hamilton. He predeceased her in October 1979. Moving to Madison Lane Apartments in 1995, she considered all of her friends there her second family. Olga worked at Quack’s Diner in Madison for 27 years, retiring in 1977. She was everyone’s friend and could always bring a smile to your face. She was a volunteer server with the Snack Program for 15 years, and also helped at the Bargain Basket Thrift Shop in Earlville.
Surviving are her daughter, Carol Kelly of Cazenovia; a sister, Frances Curtis of Eaton; daughter-in-law, Barbara North of CA; a surrogate daughter, Ruth Ann Morton of Waterville; her beloved grandchildren, Craig (Becky) North; Sheree (David) Dorrance; Kirk (Josey) North; Eric (Mary Lynn) Lodor; Randy North and Kelly Skiff. Also surviving are four step-grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, including a special great-grandson, Casey Brown; and three great-great-granddaughters. She was predeceased by son, Clifford North on September 29, 1990; four brothers, Samuel, Eugene, Lewis and Albert Parteko; a sister, Josephine Woodcock, and a son-in-law, George “Bud” Kelly on October 3, 2002.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, October 2, 2010 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, NY, with interment in the Eaton Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11am until 1pm prior to the service.
