Paul E. Ryberg, Jr., 89, of South Main St., Earlville, NY, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 at the NYS Veterans Home, Oxford, NY.
He was born December 6, 1923 in Oxford, a son of Paul E. and Irene Monson Ryberg and was a graduate of Oxford Academy. Paul was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served as a bomber pilot in WWII and the Korean Conflict, retiring with the rank of Major. On September 1, 1946, Paul married Hazel E. Howland in East McDonough. Following his military service, Paul worked at Bennett-Ireland in Norwich as a foreman until his retirement from there. Paul was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Earlville.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel; children, Paul E., III and Robin Ryberg of Earlville; and Susan E. Ryberg of Oswego; grandchildren, Aaron and Lynne Ryberg of South New Berlin; and Melissa Ryberg of Earlville; four great-grandchildren, Kayla, Tiffany, John and Samantha; sister-in-law, Barbara Ryberg of VA; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Virgil, Kenneth and Charles Ryberg.
Graveside services with military honors will be held in the Earlville Cemetery in the spring.
There will be no calling hours.
Contributions in his memory may be made to the Earlville Fire Department or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
