Phyllis J. Stoddard, 63, of English Ave., passed away Sunday, January 30, 2011 at her home.
She was born March 17, 1947 in DeRuyter, a daughter of Kenneth and Gladys Closson Bartlett and was a graduate of Earlville High School. On April 15, 1967, Phyllis married Richard L. Stoddard in Lebanon. Phyllis was a homemaker who devoted her life to caring for her family. She was also very dedicated to her community where she was an active member of the Eaton Fire Department for 44 years and was a Fire Police Officer. She was also a member of the New York State and Madison Fire Police Assoc., and was currently a Commissioner of the Eaton Fire District.
Phyllis was a member of the Peterboro United Methodist Church, and had previously been a member of the Lebanon Federated Church.
Surviving his her husband, Richard; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard, Jr. and Rae Jeanna Stoddard of Eaton; Trevor Stoddard of Eaton; Brett and Chrysan Stoddard of White Marsh, VA; and Johan Stoddard of Eaton; her mother, Gladys Bartlett of Louisburg, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth, Jr. and Dawn Bartlett of North Norwich; Leslie and Dee Bartlett of Smyrna; Jeffrey and Theresa Bartlett of Lansing, NY; grandchildren, Deonna, Dylen, Derek and Nicholaus; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, and an infant daughter, Carol Ann.
Funeral services will be held at 6pm Friday, February 4, 2011 at the Eaton Community Bible Church.
Interment will be in the Eaton Village Cemetery in the spring.
Friends are invited to call at the church on Friday from 4-6 pm prior to the service.
