Robert “Charles” Lloyd, 75, of Hamilton, died Friday, June 26, 2015 following a brief illness. Charlie was born in Binghamton, NY, on January 28, 1940 to Robert and Dorothy (White) Lloyd and grew up in New Berlin, graduating high school in 1958. He has lived in the Hamilton area for the past 45 years and has been a prominent member of the community. He worked both at the Madison County Highway Department and Department of Social Services, retiring in 2003. He is well known for his enthusiasm and support for the local sports teams and school activities. He coached Junior Little League, Little League, and established the Babe Ruth Program at Hamilton. He and his wife Joanne were the co-founders of the Kati Corps color guard club which allowed kids to participate from all over the area as well beginning a 4H club in Randallsville. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time outside. Charlie was well known around town for walking his two Jack Russell terriers (a.k.a partners in crime) and for his bright gregarious personality. Charlie was never too busy to stop and talk to strangers or friends in an attempt to brighten their day. He was a long time communicate and usher of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hamilton.
He and his wife Joanne recently celebrated their 55th Wedding anniversary. Their family and friends joined them for a vow renewal and lovely celebration.
Surviving are his wife Joanne and his four children along with their spouses, Michael, Cathy, Karen and Christine and two foster children, Angel and Cherish. He delighted in his thirteen grandchildren, Kati, Kelly, Ashleigh, Corey, Jacob, Joshua, Zachary, Cortney, Kelby, Kaleigh, Emily, Cody, and Alexis along with seven great grandchildren Taylor, Baileigh, Brady, Rylee, Elijah, Ariella, and Alexander. He also is survived by his siblings Larry and Judy. He was predeceased by his son Jeffrey.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 4 to 7 PM at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad Street, Hamilton, NY. The Rosary will be recited at 3:45 pm. We will be celebrating his life with a Mass of Christian burial at St. Mary’s Church, Hamilton on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 11 AM, with Fr. Richard Dunn as celebrant.

A life as full and beautiful as his cannot be captured in a paragraph, but will be treasured forever in the hearts of everyone who loved him.
