Roger L. Palmer, 74 of Excell Rd., Earlville, NY, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 30, 2020 at his home. He was born December 12, 1945 in Oneida a son of the late Leon Paul and Marion Heap Palmer and received his early education in Lebanon Schools and graduated from Sherburne High School. On August 21, 1971 in Hamilton, he was united in marriage to Margaret E. Dungey. Roger had worked at as a custodian at Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton, Wesco Steel, Sherburne, the Village of Earlville as a water tester and most recently for the Town of Hamilton Highway Dept. as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. Roger loved woodworking and had made many beautiful pieces of furniture for his family. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are his wife Margaret, a daughter and son-in-law, Paula and James Barker of Earlville and grandchildren Madison and Jackson. A son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Pam Palmer of Morrisville and grandchildren, Katelyn and Logan and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother Robert P. Palmer on July 1, 2020.
Calling hours will be private. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Poolville Cemetery, Poolville.
