Sally M. Howe, 87, of Oswego, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Oswego Hospital.
She was born September 14, 1928 in Utica, a daughter of John and Mary Rybak Stopera, and was a graduate of Utica schools. She married William J. Howe who predeceased her in 1982. Sally had lived in North Utica, Herkimer, Oswego and then Whitesboro before moving back to Oswego to live with her family. She had worked for UNIVAC (Sperry-Rand); was a waitress at DanDee Donuts, and then owned and operated her own DanDee Donuts shop in the Charlestowne Outlet Mall in Utica. Sally was an avid bowler.
Surviving are her children, Gerald and Elaine Howe of Phoenix, AZ; Bruce Howe and Mae Parlin of Oswego; Gregory Howe and Maxine McCoy of Utica; two sisters, Theresa and Charles Zurakowski of Clifton Park; and Gladys Davis of Savannah, GA. She was predeceased by a son, William “Will” Howe in 2007; a brother, Theodore Stopera; and a sister, Jane Scatko.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Thursday, March 31, 2016 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, NY, followed by burial in the Madison Village Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-2pm prior to the service.
