Thomas R. Riggall, 76, of Route 26, West Eaton, NY, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility.
He was born March 18, 1939 in West Eaton, a son of Raymond and Ada Hemingway Riggall and was a graduate of Morrisville-Eaton High School. Thomas joined the U.S. Army in 1959, where he served as a medic, and was stationed in Germany until his honorable discharge in 1962. He worked for Colgate University in Hamilton for several years until his retirement. Previously, he had worked for G.E. in Utica, the Village of Morrisville, the Town of Eaton Highway Department, and the NYS Highway Department.
Tom was a member and Past Chief of the West Eaton Fire Department. He was a former member of the West Eaton Ambulance Corp. and a former member of the American Legion Post #136 of Morrisville.
Surviving are his children, Edward and Lydia Riggall of Eaton; and Heather Riggall of NC; two brothers, Harry and Norman Riggall, both of West Eaton; two sisters-in-law, Bobbi Riggall of WI and Betty Riggall of West Eaton; his grandchildren, Benjamin, Kasey, Thomas and Taylor; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brother, Fred and George Riggall.
Funeral services will be held at 6pm Monday, April 13, 2015 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville, NY.
Interment with military honors in the West Eaton Cemetery will be at a later date.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday from 3-6pm
