Virginia D. Warner, 70, of Goff Rd., Morrisville, NY, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014 as the result of injuries sustained from a tornado that struck her home.
She was born April 12, 1944 in the Town of Smithfield, a daughter of Howard and Mildred Doxtater Warner and received her education in local schools. Virginia was a lifelong area resident who had worked at ARC in Oneida for over 30 years.
She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Morrisville a former member of the Smithfield Grange; and a member of the Hamilton Senior Program for 15 years. She enjoyed playing Bingo, making jewelry, latch hooking and making afghans.
Virginia is survived by her nieces and nephews, Connie and Donald DeGroat of Morrisville; Michael Warner and Dan Plante of San Marcos, CA; Teresa and Timothy Smith, Steven and Cathy Warner, all of Morrisville; great-nieces and –nephews, Jason and Nicole DeGroat, Steven and Joshua Smith, John, Katherine and William Warner, all of Morrisville; great-great nephew, Dawson DeGroat; and a great-great-niece, Ariana Hilliard.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 2369 Lake Moraine Rd., Hamilton, NY.
Following the service she will be laid to rest in the Peterboro Cemetery, Peterboro, NY.
Friends are invited to call at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Monday from 4-8pm.
