WALLACE W. “Bud” HILTS, JR.
Wallace W. “Bud” Hilts, Jr., 84, of Eaton Rd., passed away Saturday July 6, 2013 at the Crouse Community Center, Morrisville. He was born in the Town of Sullivan on January 31, 1929 a son of the late Wallace W. and Emma M. Featherly Hilts and received his education in local schools. On July 18, 1953 in Hamilton he was united in marriage to the former Shirley Kingsbury. Mr. Hilts owned and operated his own dairy farm, Eaton Brook Farm, and also was employed by the Madison County Highway Dept, for 20 years until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of the Barker Brook Golf League of Oriskany Falls; the Eaton Brook Rod & Gun Club; the Pompey Trap Shooting Club and a former member and Chief of the W. Eaton Vol. Fire Dept. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He leaves his wife Shirley; two daughters Susan Kemp of Georgetown and David Foster; and Barbara Gallup of Cortland. Two granddaughters Nicole (Christopher) Mariotti of Munnsville and Lauren Schaefer of Cortland. Also two sisters and a brother in law Jackie and Clarence Daughtey of Waterville; Shirley Flinn of Florida; an aunt Robeta Featherly of E. Syracuse and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Jean Breed and two brothers Donald and James Hilts.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday July 10, 2013 at 2:00 PM from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home 31 Cedar St, Morrisville. Interment will follow in Eaton Village Cemetery. Friends are invited and may call from Noon to 2:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers contributions in Bud’s memory may be made to the Crouse Community Center or the Alzheimer’s Association.
