Allen R. Owen

Allen R. Owen, 68, of Fayette St., Earlville, NY, passed away on February 27, 2023 at Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton.

He was born on May 12, 1954 in Norwich, a son of the late Norburn and Marcia Scheuerman Owen and was a 1972 graduate of Sherburne-Earlville High School. On May 18, 1974, Allen was united in marriage to Theresa A. Andrews in St. Malachy’s Church, Sherburne. Allen worked for Colgate University for 39 years until retiring as an offset pressman. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and hunting, especially coyotes and ducks. He was an archer and enjoyed participating in archery competitions. He was also a gun enthusiast.

Surviving are his wife, Theresa; his children, Jason and Sarina Owen of Sherburne; Jeanne and Rich Macumber of Hubbardsville; grandchildren, Hunter Owen of Oswego; Lincoln and Desirae Owen of Sherburne; Jessica and Wes Erwin of Foley, AL; Brandon and Grace Macumber of Earlville; Tanner Manwarren of Ogden, UT; great-grandchildren, Bristol and Parker Erwin and Breccan Macumber; sisters, Jean Zieno and Janice Miles, both of Norwich; Barbara and Bill Sleight of Galway, NY; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Elaine Johnson.

Friends are invited and may call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 2-5pm, immediately followed by a prayer service at 5pm.

Interment will be private at the convenience of his family.
