Bridget Marie Shantal, 23, of Green Vedder Rd., Oriskany Falls, NY, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018 as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
She was born August 31, 1994 in New Hartford, a daughter of Donald E., Jr. and Gertrude L. Way Shantal. Bridget was a graduate of Waterville High School, attended SUNY, Morrisville and MVCC, then studied nursing at Oneida-Madison B.O.C.E.S. She had worked for Dunkin’ Donuts during her high school years, and later at Giovanni’s Pizza in Clinton. Currently she was working at Ohio Baking Enterprises in Utica, Pumilia’s Pizza Shell in Waterville and Hannaford in Clinton. Bridget was an outgoing, vivacious and fun-loving woman who had a marvelous sense of humor and a penchant for being a jokester. She was loving, caring and supportive to her family and friends who will all miss her dearly. She enjoyed spending time with those she loved.
Bridget was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Oriskany Falls.
Surviving are her parents, Gertrude “Dee” and Donald Shantal, her grandmothers, Margaret Way and Ida Shantal, two sisters, Audrey and Margaret Shantal and a brother, Donald E. Shantal, III, all of Oriskany Falls; three nieces, Kaitlyn, Tairyn and Abbey, a nephew, Michael; many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, James M. Way, and her grandfathers, Irving K. Way and Donald E. Shantal, Sr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Monday, March 12, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Church, Oriskany Falls, followed by a reception at the Clifford J. Fulmer American Legion Post in Waterville.
Interment in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Waterville will be in the spring.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, Kloster & Northrop Memorial Chapel, 210 E. Main St., Waterville on Sunday from 4-7pm.
