SHERBURNE: Caroline Effie Horton, 90, passed away on Saturday January 09, 2021 at Chase Nursing Home in New Berlin, NY
The daughter of LeeDue and Celia (Doyle) Jaquay, she was born on October 2, 1930 in Columbus, NY. She celebrated her 90th birthday last year with her family. She was the last survivor of 13 brothers and sisters.
She married Harold C. Horton on December 21, 1945 in South Edmeston. Harold entered into eternal life on Friday, September 8, 1995. Their son Ronald passed away at 6 months old.
She is survived by a son, Gerald and Janet Horton of Sherburne, NY; and three daughters, Elizabeth and David Smith of Norwich, NY; Geraldine and Bryan Perryman of Mexico Beach, Florida; Norma and Phil Hull of Sherburne, NY. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Also 1 honorable mention, her grand dog Mylo
Caroline was always on the go. She worked at Sherwood Medical, Bennett Ireland, and Cleaned houses for many years.
She enjoyed spending time with family, especially the times at Jerry & Janet’s camp, & playing Skip Bo with her grandchildren. She loved the fish fries and eating in general…She loved to eat! She also loved her fuzzy navel drinks. The family looked forward to holiday gatherings when she made her famous homemade spaghetti sauce.
