Constance “Connie” Buschatzke, 93, of Hamilton, formerly of Massapequa Park and Clinton, passed away on Wednesday May 25, 2022 at the Crouse Community Center, Morrisville. She was born October 20, 1928 in the Bronx, a daughter of the late Michael and Teresa DiBenedetto Casa and graduated from Sawanhaka High School on Long Island. On April 17, 1949 in Franklin Square, NY she was united in marriage to Harold “Gus” Buschatzke. He predeceased her on January 12, 2016. Connie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Hamilton. She enjoyed antiques, restoring old cane back chairs and braiding her own rugs. She also enjoyed watching tennis and was a New York Rangers fan.
Surviving are her children; Dr. Richard and Dr. Mildred Irizarry Buschatzke, of Cazenovia, Don and Linda Buschatzke, of Payson, AZ., Tom and Pam Buschatzke of Phoenix, AZ., Doug and Linda Buschatzke, of Oneida; a sister, Virginia Smith of Massapequa Park; a brother Michael A. Casa, of Houston, TX., 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
In keeping with Connie’s wishes, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Hamilton, followed by internment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.StJude.org
