Daniel C. Fairbanks

Daniel C. Fairbanks, 72 of New Berlin, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 5, 2023, at his home.

Dan was born May 29, 1951, to Doris (Jackson) and Charles Fairbanks. After high school Dan was drafted into the US Army where he served from 1970-1974. During his time in the US Army, Dan completed the education and training for Radio Relay and was a Carrier Attendant. Dan received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal and the Marksman M16 Medal.

Dan was an avid hunter and fisherman and in his younger years; he loved to play horseshoes, play poker and coach children’s baseball.

Dan is survived by his children, Cody (Cheryl) of Norwich, Rhonda (Jeff) of Plymouth and Zachary (Ashley) of Norwich, his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his siblings, Brenda Prosser of Sherburne, Charlene Foster of Norwich, Amy Murphy of North Norwich, Eric Fairbanks of Smyrna, Ferris Fairbanks of Sherburne, Phil Fairbanks of Sherburne, Todd Fairbanks of Indiana and Scott Fairbanks of Cortland and many nieces and nephews.

Dan is predeceased by his parents Doris and Charles Fairbanks, his brothers Maynard (Pete), Brent, Arden (Ike) and his sister Kathy.

It was Dan’s wish to not have any services, there will be celebration of life Friday, August 25^th  at 5:00 pm at the Sherburne Legion, 15 South Main St., Sherburne, NY 13460

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 South Main St., Sherburne, NY.
