Diane J. Barrett

Diane J. Barrett, 64, of Babcock Hill Rd., Cassville, NY passed away Monday, December 13, 2021 at the Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.
She was born October 22, 1957 in Utica, a daughter of Kenneth and Betty Green Gray and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. She had worked at the Utica Psychiatric Center State Hospital for a short time. She met the love of her life, Douglas F. Barrett and they moved to Florida in 1981. They were married on May 4, 1984. While in Florida, Diane did private duty care until 1985 when she became a stay-at-home Mom. Moving back to Central New York, she worked at the Harding Nursing Home in Waterville from 1993 until retiring in 2020. Diane was an avid reader, enjoyed horror movies and competitive gaming. She was young at heart and loved spending time with her family. Her beloved grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Surviving are her loving husband, Doug; her children, Royeddia (John) Barringer of W. Winfield; Allen (Brittany) Barrett of Deansboro; Fritz Barrett of Deansboro; Eric Barrett of Cassville; sisters, Shirley (Dan) Madore of Utica; Kathy (Jim) Rhodes of FL; her precious grandchildren, Hayley and Logan Barringer, Jeremy and Jameson Barrett and Emmett Barrett to be born soon. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Kent Gray.
A Celebration of Diane’s life will be held from 1-5pm Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Beaver Creek Golf Course.
Interment is private at the convenience of her family.
